Saturn's Farewell to Cancer
Welcome
to Llewellyn's Astro e-newsletter. The big astrological event this
month is Saturn's farewell to Cancer. Yahoo! I'm a Cancer and while I
don't usually wish to pass trouble on to others, in this case, everyone
has to carry the weight at one time or another. Saturn heads into Leo
on July 16. You would have felt the brunt of Saturn's limitations and
the urge toward self-discipline and life restructuring between June
2003 and May 2004 if your birthday is between June 21 and July 1. The
time between May 2004 and May 2005 has been pretty rocky—literally—for
people born between July 1 and July 22, and Saturn is bearing down on
you late Cancers (born July 16-22) right about now. Are you wondering
if you could possibly take on any more?
Saturn's energy often
comes to us through circumstances that are unpleasant and challenging.
When you think about it, though, limits and structure--traffic speeds
and laws, job responsibilities and accountability, sound bodies and
healthy relationships—are necessary, even desirable. They improve our
quality of life. So, why do we complain when we're under pressure to
accept life's limitations? Maybe it's just human nature to resist what
appear to be external forces. It's also a possibility, if we are
willing to admit it, that change is necessary if we are to establish a
better foundation and internal structure to live and work from.
Transiting Saturn shows us where the work needs to be done.
Saturn
transits through a zodiac sign in about two and a half years. So, while
Sun sign Cancers have been taking Saturn's visit on a personal
level—learning more self-discipline, organizing, streamlining, and
taking on more responsibility—every person has felt Saturn's influence
somewhere in his or her life. If you have Cancer on the eighth house
cusp, you might have assumed more responsibility for the care of an
aging parent's finances; if you have Cancer on the fourth house cusp,
you might have built a new home, remodeled an existing structure, or
taken on the responsibility of caring for an aging parent. If you have
Cancer on the cusp of the sixth house, Saturn's transit through that
house might cause you to change your daily routine or gain a different
awareness about task management and organizational skills. Wherever
Saturn is in your chart, you may feel frustration and restriction. (If
you've already learned your Saturn lessons, you may experience little
during the transit.) You'll want to rid yourself of old habits and
behaviors or restructure your life in someway.
It seems fitting that Saturn's last hoorah while in the sign of Cancer
will be to square the Libra Moon, thereby sending the Moon
void-of-course on July 15. On the day before or after July 15, trouble
may develop in personal relationships, or your job will make demands
that interfere with your personal relationships, forcing you to neglect
one or the other. It'll be up to you to restore the balance.
So, there you have it. Best of luck to all you Leos; and to all you
Cancer people, go to the beach the weekend of July 16 and have some
fun. You deserve it! And, everyone: check out the cool astrology links
