Event:  Medical Reiki, A Conversation with Raven Keyes, Pioneer of “Reiki During Surgery"

A presentation with Q&A - designed to help Reiki Masters understand the opportunities and challenges associated with working with the medical community to provide Reiki to clients before, during and after surgery.
The goal is create a network of Reiki Masters in Charlotte interested in being trained to work with physicians in medical institutions.

Raven was the first to bring Reiki into the operating room of Dr. Mehmet C. Oz and continues to work with doctors at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital providing Reiki to patients before, during and after surgeries. Featured in national magazines such as “Vogue” and “W,” she was named “Best Reiki Master in New York” by New York Magazine. Her award-winning book The Healing Power of Reiki has been featured on the Columbia Surgery blog and is available on the New York-Presbyterian Columbia University Medical Center website alongside books by Dr. Oz.

Knowledge is vital to understand and embrace the peerless level of professionalism needed to bring Reiki into medical settings. Gold standards for Reiki in the OR have been established by combining personal knowledge with core objectives for patients.  As a Medical Reiki Master, you are the only one in the OR who is intentionally supporting the patient’s hopes and dreams for their future while easing their fears.  You are simultaneously supporting their body’s ability to withstand the surgery and to quickly heal.
