What a wonderful present, thank you Llewellyn! I have a couple of questions though:

1. The NOOK book downloaded no problem and is totally readable on the free NOOK PC App, but to make sure, I wanted to know if this offer is a “lending” offer (i.e. expiring 2 weeks after downloaded) or is it a permanent entry in my (newly formed) NOOK library?

2. The Kindle one? Even after downloading the App, I am having trouble – when attempting to do 1-click download, I keep getting a screen saying I do not have a Kindle OR a Kindle App (even though I did download the PC app and registered it and everything). It could be that Amazon will not allow their free apps for Kindle to let you download the book, and I have posted a question on their Kindle forum since I could not find it in their FAQ’s.

The deal? Well, I am a rather die-hard “paper” book person, and have really not decided if this rather pricey eBook reader machine purchase would be for me. As an example: I have some PDF books on my computer but I hardly ever read them, because I would rather hold the book in my hand and curl up in bed or on the couch with my cup of tea – it is such a habit haha! Perhaps I can be trained, and I bet there are others like me out there having the same dilemma. Perhaps this is one of the reasons you would have such a promotion? :-) Thanks once again, it is very appreciated!

Well, after massive research, FAQ’s, and even making a thread in the forum along with an email support request with Amazon, I still need to call them tomorrow. Apparently, you CAN use the apps without purchasing a Kindle, but for some reason it is not registering correctly, and their email instructions didn’t help. I happen to see on the forum I was not the only person with this problem, so maybe there is a “glitch” in the PC app. THANKS again!!
