Watchtowers

This article was written by Gerald and Betty Scheuler on May 29, 2002
posted under Enochian Magick

Enochian Magick teaches that divinity ex-presses itself downward from the spiritual world into the material world of time, space and form. This descent results in a graduated series of planes and subplanes until the lowest expression is reached—the physical world in which we live. These planes are called the Cosmic Planes of Manifestation. They are invisible to the five physical senses of sight, sound, smell, taste and touch, but are real nonetheless. They consist of five main planes. These cosmic planes contain the Four Great Watchtowers of Enochian Magick. A Tablet of Union unites the four Watchtowers (see Figure 1) and each of the four Watchtower Tablets. The Tablet of Union contain Squares. Each Watchtower Tablet consists of thirteen rows and twelve columns, making a total of 156 Squares. Each Square is a subplane of the Magickal Universe and holds one or more letters of the Angelic alphabet. By appropriate application of these letters, the names of all of the Enochian deities (as well as all the terrible demons) are made known.

THE WATCHTOWER OF EARTH
The Great Northern Quadrant of Earth is the first of the mighty Watchtowers that create and sustain our physical world. The Watchtower of Earth is a region of powerful formative forces that gives rise to all material things, and yet is not those things itself. The Watchtower of Earth is not the planet on which we live in our bodies of flesh. It is invisible to our eyes. Our ears hear none of its music. Our noses cannot smell its fragrances. But the subtle body, called the Body of Light, can see its splendors, hear its sounds and smell its odors. The Watchtower of Earth is located on the etheric plane and has astrological relationships with the Moon.

THE WATCHTOWER OF WATER
The Great Western Quadrant of Water is the Watchtower that reflects images into our physical world—a region of strong creative life forces that gives rise to all living things—but not life itself. It is not the water we drink in the physical world. It is invisible. The Watchtower of Water is located on the astral plane and has astrological relationships with the planet Venus.

THE WATCHTOWER OF AIR
The Great Eastern Quadrant of Air is the Watchtower that pours thoughts and ideas into our physical world. It is the region of intelligent forces that gives rise to the logic and reason of all living things. The Watchtower of Air is not the air that we breathe in the physical world. It is invisible to our eyes. The Watchtower of Air is located on the lower mental plane and has astrological relationships with the planet Mercury.

THE WATCHTOWER OF FIRE
The Great Southern Quadrant of Fire is the Watchtower that causes the constant change of our physical world. It is a region of strong creative and destructive forces that gives rise to the ultimate growth of all living things. The Watchtower of Fire is not the fire we kindle in the physical world. It is invisible to our eyes. The Watchtower of Fire is located on the upper mental plane (sometimes called the causal plane), which is just below the Great Outer Abyss. It is said to have astrological relationships with the Sun.

Sensitive people have gotten a bum rap. We live in a world that doesn't embrace the values of sensitivity, so we get told that we are weak, unusual, touchy, and hard to please. The sad truth is that we hear these messages in many ways throughout our lives. Even if it is from a well-meaning teacher or parent who tries to "toughen us up," the crux... read this article
