The Shamanism of Today
This article was written by Amber Wolfe on May 14, 2002 posted under Shamanism We all have the capacity to follow a shamanic path. In our increasing attunement to Earth wisdom, we have all become like shamans mapping our journeys and our relationships with Nature.
Shamanism is an ancient art, a creative craft, and a way of wisdom, arising from the ages past to align us with the transformative energies of Nature. To follow the path of the Shaman, we need only open our minds and our hearts to the wisdom surrounding us. Shamanism helps us connect—without superstition and with sincerity—to Self, Nature, and Spirit.
You have shamanic consciousness when you can combine the focused awareness of waking consciousness with the unfocused flow of dreams, inner vision, and non-waking consciousness. It is a special altered state of consciousness in which you are able to view your surroundings as a non-ordinary reality.
How you decide to adapt shamanic methods and follow the path is your personal choice. We all have the potential to be Aquarian shamans, reflecting the coming of the Aquarian age.
