How do you
choose a crystal that’s right for you? How do you know which one will help you?
Listen to your inner self, and select the crystal that’s interesting and
attractive to you.
The best way
is to handle and hold it, being sensitive to how it feels. Appearance is
secondary. Pick a stone by attraction, by being drawn to touch it, then hold it
in the left hand loosely. Let it rest against the palm chakra and notice the
impressions, colors, sounds, and mood feelings that accompany the stone. No two
crystals are the same; they are like snowflakes. Each will resonate
differently. Look for one that will resonate with your being, regardless of
size, shape, color, clarity, or jeweler’s quality. It’s the subtle polarity
impression which is important. The crystal should feel alive in the hand,
vibrate, or radiate—it should feel good. A tiny quartz no larger than a
thumbnail can be powerful and effective. Look for pleasing colors, unchipped
points, and symmetrical shapes, but these appearances are secondary to the energy
vibrations. Crystals are like cats in that they select their owner. If you are
supposed to have a particular crystal, it will come to you.
If you want
to check out the energy of a crystal, here’s an interesting technique. Wait
until you feel quiet and centered in your heart, then hold the crystal in your
left hand. Curl your tongue so that its tip touches the middle-back of your
mouth. This area joins the energy of your two major acupuncture meridians and
increases your sensitivity. You may feel the crystal activate an organ, a
chakra, a part of the body. You may feel a shift in consciousness, or simply
feel warmth or tingling in your hand. Give it a few minutes to speak to you in
its own way.
