Diagnosis:
An analysis to determine the cause of a situation. Most often, the term is used in relation to healing practices. Virtually every healing technique has it's own form of diagnosis. Often, the methods of coming to a diagnosis, and the diagnosis itself, do not seem logical in a system other than the one in which it is used. Thus, the pulse diagnosis used in traditional Chinese medicine and the determination of the cause of an ailment within Chinese medicine often makes no sense to a person trained in Allopathic Western medicine.
