Awake:
In contrast to asleep, being awake supposedly says we are alert and perceptive to sensory input and the ongoing functions of ordinary consciousness. Nevertheless, self-observation will clearly show that there’s more to being awake than having your eyes open! It’s somewhat like having a dimmer on your light switch.
