Necronomicon: Horror story writer H. P. Lovecraft invented the entire idea of an evil book called the Necronomicon. In January of 1934, Lovecraft wrote a letter where he says that the Necronomicon is nothing but a figment of his imagination.... There are many books which claim to be THE Necronomicon. I have several books with that name and several articles which are supposed to be excerpts from the "real" thing.
