| DEFINITIONS |
Fortuneteller: A person who predicts the future. This word is losing popularity as it implies a fatalistic view of life where a person is fated to experience what the fortuneteller reveals. Today, most “readers” consider themselves as interpreting what everything is leading to at this time. The conscious actions of a person, as well as new input from other people or events, could change the predicted outcome. Thus, a reader is a guide rather than a fortuneteller.
