Acquisitions Editor Internship  Llewellyn has an opportunity for an outgoing, detail-oriented and creative person who loves books to work in our acquisitions department during Summer 2009, June through August.
Interns will apply their editorial and/or journalism skill while working closely with members of the acquisitions department in the acquisitions process, which includes updating sales figures to be used in title review consideration, entering and processing contracts, assisting in reading and evaluating manuscripts as well as participating in meetings. All interns assist with administrative support tasks as needed. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to gain valuable hands-on experience in publishing.
The typical internship requires a commitment of 10 to 15 hours per week through the summer semester. The internship will be scheduled during operating hours—8 a.m. through 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Preference will be given to students who can schedule 3-4 hour shifts. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a degree-granting program.
This is an unpaid internship. Applications will be accepted through mid-June.

Accounts Payable  Llewellyn has a fulltime opportunity in Accounts Payable. Primary responsibilities include matching, accuracy review, coding and entering invoices, writing checks, A/P reconciliation, expense claims, and vendor relations. This position works closely with company Controller and President.
Candidates must be highly organized, a self-starter, have great communication skills and the ability to exercise excellent judgment. A minimum of five years of recent A/P experience required, with a two-year accounting degree. A working knowledge of Oracle A/P or other large accounting software system strongly preferred.

Acquisitions Editor  Llewellyn has a unique opening for an editorial professional to acquire manuscripts in the subjects of paranormal, angels, divination and related subjects.
We are looking for a person with editorial experience, excellent communication skills and savvy negotiating ability for the purpose of acquiring manuscripts. You should have a strong interest in the paranormal and other New Age subjects. BA in English or three years of editing experience required.
