An Interview with Pauline Edward, the author of The Power of Time

1. I understand you are an astrologer; The Power of Time is about numerology. Why do you now practice astrology?

In my consulting practice with clients, I have developed a system whereby I take the best of both worlds. Numerology and astrology present different, yet equally valuable facets of the life experience, and by synthesizing the information from each system, I obtain a quick and accurate portrait of the person and their circumstances. Clients are looking for workable solutions for the immediate situations in their lives. This approach allows me to provide them not only with information they can use in a practical way, but also knowledge about the trends and cycles at work in their lives. While I use astrology as a base, my clients can more easily relate to numbers like the Life Path and Personal Year numbers. It gives us a point of reference as we work together to find solutions and gain understanding.

2. How does numerology work? How does The Power of Time address numerology?

Numerology works much like a system of symbols that reflect the nature of a person’s life journey. Each number acts as an archetype of sorts, representing aspects of the human experience. For example, the number 1 reflects leadership, initiative, and self-reliance, while the number two is the number of interaction, cooperation, and teamwork. The Power of Time introduces the basic numbers that are found in the birth date, and shows how these work in your life. It provides simple exercises that enable you to see how the numbers have worked throughout your life. This makes it very easy to then plan your year based on your personal trends.

3. What if I don’t believe in numerology? Can I still benefit from this book?

Absolutely! The cool thing about The Power of Time is just that: you don’t have to believe in numerology to see it at work in your life any more than you need to believe in meteorology to recognize seasonal weather patterns. As you complete the exercises you’ll quickly see first hand how the numbers are working in your life. It’s really amazing. You have to try it, especially if you are a nonbeliever. The greatest satisfaction I get is when people in my workshops one after the other exclaim “Wow! This is really working!” After having read the book, you’ll probably have a whole new appreciation for some of the forces at work in our universe, unexplained forces like numerology.

4. How can knowing my numbers help me?

The first thing your numbers will give you is a clear picture of your overall life purpose. That in itself can remove many of the doubts and questions that often arise during periods of excessive stress or transition. The second benefit of numerology comes from its ability to clearly identify trends and opportunities, past, present, and future. The proper knowledge of your personal trends can help clarify what you should do, and when. In this way, you can make more appropriate choices, given your personal climate.

5. What if I don’t want to know my future? I kind of like to make my own decisions in life, make my own future…

I’m with you on that point! However, there is a vast difference between knowing the future and being aware of upcoming trends. Suppose we didn’t know the order of the seasons. We wouldn’t know whether to keep bathing suits or snowsuits in our wardrobes. Consulting your numbers is also a bit like checking the weather network for upcoming weather trends. The weatherman does not tell you what you will do on that upcoming rainy weekend any more than the numerologist tells you what you will do in your number nine personal year. They just tell you the climate.

6. I don’t know much about numerology, and would prefer not to spend too much time studying it. Of what benefit is The Power of Time to me?

The Power of Time was written for people just like you! All you need is your birth date. The book walks you step-by-step through the calculation process, and then shows you how to apply the knowledge directly in your life with handy exercises and worksheets. It gives you the basic meaning of each of the numbers and with the help of a convenient list of keywords, you can create your own interpretations. You’ll be able to see the numbers at work in your life on a yearly, monthly, and even daily basis.

7. How can the study of numerology and The Power of Time help me improve my life?

In general, having an understanding of the numbers at work in your life is like having a personalized roadmap. It tells you what the road ahead is like: hilly, flat, curved, along with the climate (rainy, sunny, or cold). You still get to drive your own car and decide how long you will stay in a particular location, but as you work with the exercises in The Power of Time you will no doubt have a better sense of where you are and where you are going on this journey.
