Dislocated Pain

This article was written by Richard Schwartz
posted under

Many years ago, I was involved in a truck wreck in which one of the vertebrae in my back was compressed into a wedge shape. This misshapen vertebra became the source of a chronic, nagging backache.

One day I was taking a nap on the couch in my living room. After sleeping flat on my back for a while, I became aware that my back was hurting and that I really needed to sit up to relieve the pain. Unfortunately, the room was so warm that I was in a stupor, and could not awaken.

Breaking through the grogginess, I told myself: “I WILL sit up,” and I forced my body to go through the motion. Imagine my surprise when I became fully awake-and found myself partially out of my physical body! My head was “in” my physical head, and my feet were “in” my physical feet, but my rear end was down by the floor-right through the couch upon which I had been lying!

The point I wish to make is that the pain was in ME, down in the couch, rather than in the physical body stretched out on the couch. The physical body truly appeared to be an inanimate piece of clay. This was no hallucination-I was cold sober and taking no medication. For once I truly understood the concept of existence in more than one dimension-etheric bodies, spirit guides, ghosts, or whatever you want to call it.
