Chaos and Rebellion: Uranus' Influence

This article was written by Robin Ivy
posted under Astrology

Creatures of habit, prepare! You’ve noticed the push for change already, haven’t you? From February 20 through March’s Full Moon, we hit a series of Uranus hot spots as the Sun, Mercury, and Venus move through Pisces and trigger the planet of chaos and rebellion along the way. Life as we know it can be drastically altered as Uranus enlightens, unsettles, and encourages experimentation as the winter season wanes. While Uranus can make us feel out of control, knowledge is power. Work with these aspects around the following dates:

February 20: Mercury and Uranus conjunct at 6 degrees of Pisces jolt us into consciousness. A problem that seemed insurmountable is suddenly resolved by an unforeseen turn in events! New solutions present themselves now, or the words we need to speak finally come easily. When Mercury and Uranus meet, we’re ready to experiment or try an original approach. In Pisces, our spiritual perspectives - including views on death and the afterlife - may be challenged. This is a time of intuitive and creative peaks. Keep notepads and pens nearby to record significant dreams and ideas.

February 21 and 24, March 21 and 25: On these four dates, near the Full Moons of February and March, the Moon and Uranus form the quincunx, an aspect that attempts to blend unlikely energies and force change. The Moon in fiery Leo and airy Libra can hardly understand the spiritual and emotional depths of Uranus in Pisces. Though we feel compelled to examine beliefs and attempt to change old patterns, it’s unlikely to happen all at once. A piece of the puzzle may be put in place. Chip away rather than expecting to break down the entire wall and be satisfied with small steps toward bigger goals. Moodiness and frustration are to be expected. Be understanding of each other since tensions will run high.

February 24 and March 23: The Virgo Full Moon of February 23 is almost directly opposite Uranus. A duel between conforming and nonconforming energies ensues! Boundaries are tested and middle-ground is hard to find. How accepting can you be of someone or something completely alien to your experience? We might really perceive each other as having two heads or one eye! Taking the rebellious, artistic energy of Uranus in Pisces and making it work in a more structured, practical venue is one ultimate outcome of this opposition which repeats on March 23, just before a Full Moon in Libra. If Uranus aspects have shaken you up, regain your balance and find some peace as the Moon peaks in the sign of justice and harmony two days later.

March 4: Venus and Uranus align in Pisces and stir up our love lives! It’s a highly sensitive and emotional time. Love at first sight is a distinct possibility. We can fall head over heels with this powerful conjunction in Pisces, the romantic of the zodiac! In Pisces, we’re also at our most vulnerable though, so steer clear of fatal attractions and codependent ties. In committed relationships, this is a chance to break down barriers between you and reawaken a sense of romance. Love can really be transformed now. Along with affecting relationships, the meeting of Venus and Uranus is inventive and original, in tune with our sense of beauty, harmony, and willingness to experiment. A drastic makeover can be the result! So whether you’re working on your own appearance or painting and renovating, there’s a true metamorphosis in progress.

March 9: The Moon and Uranus dance wildly, near Venus, in Pisces. This emotional hot spot is rebellious in love. Look for breakdowns in relationship matters and surprising new partnerships. Who’s making up and breaking up will be fuel for talk in school or at the office. The drama of the unexpected will also manifest outside our personal affairs. For example, artistically, this conjunction is shockingly original and bold. Creative bursts of energy result in products that demand notice. Actors and actresses may surprise themselves and their audiences with their ability to transform into character. The empathy of Pisces helps us take on the feelings of others so open your heart selectively. Experiences now could range from elation to chaos! During a time in the lunar cycle intended for reflection and preparation, let the effect of any unexpected change sink in for a few days before reacting. Remember, Uranus aspects remain active through the Full Moon of March 25.
