Aside from the many cultural differences between ancient and modern shamanic communities worldwide, there are a few basic commonalities in terms of the underlying worldview shared by almost all of the people in a shamanic community. These include: An individual is both unique and indistinguishable from his environment. The entire world shares one body, one flesh. Identity is formed through intimate relationship with the natural world, especially the "home" territory and the sacred places. Service to the human community as well as to the community of nature is inseparable from the goals of the individual. The 2012 time period originally came into the realm of discussion by researchers discovering that the Mayan calendar ends in or around the year 2012. It is interesting to note that many modern people don't think the Mayan people even exist anymore, which couldn't be farther from the truth! It is estimated that there are six million Maya that share cultural heritage living in Southern Mexico and Central America. They lack any kind of propulsion system or comfortable seating. In my experience there are two ways that witches actually do fly: by way of ointments and ingestion of plant entheogens, and a technique that I call dream trance or dreaming awake. My book, The ...
Since ecoshamanism is the antithesis of the materialistic worldview, one of the ways that the shamanic world can start to appear in front of us is when we engage in activities completely foreign to the habitual modes of being imposed on us by modern society. The techniques of counterpractice that I have laid out so far have been some of the big ones that are aimed at deep levels of awareness. But there are also thousands of smaller forms of ecological counterpractice that, when combined, can create significant momentum and radical shifts in consciousness. Therefore…I'm going to list some small conscious-raising forms of counterpractice that can be performed during daily life. Keep ...
