Journey into Freedom

Think about the idea of emotional freedom. Let it really sink in and evoke your imagination. What does it personally mean to you? Perhaps it means gaining independence by ending a draining relationship, finding complete happiness within rather than from misleading external sources, or discovering the confidence that comes from knowing you have everything you need. Once you know what this means to you, imagine how good it would feel to experience freedom like this on a daily basis—centered, complete, and secure.
As exhilarating as it can be to daydream about this sort of freedom, doing something concrete to achieve it can be difficult. But why? If this sounds familiar, I encourage you to practice the art of letting go. It may seem ironic that developing the most secure life imaginable actually involves loosening our controlling grip on it. Guy Finley calls this the “single greatest discovery any human being can make”—that is, gaining freedom by letting go.
Since 1990, Guy Finley’s The Secret of Letting Go has inspired countless people and has been translated into numerous new editions. Letters from readers around the world pour in to let the author know how much this book has positively affected their life. What is it about this book that has inspired readers for nearly two decades? It is wise and inspiring, but most of all, it is provocative. Finley uses revealing dialogues, thought-provoking questions, tales of true versus false nature, and real-life stories to evoke personal change from within as you read. He allows you to share in the exciting discoveries that uncover the path to true self-liberation.
In October, The Secret of Letting Go book will be re-released with updated content, a classic new cover, and a free inspirational DVD offer in every book. In the meantime, head over to www.guyfinley.com and sign up for his key lessons by email.
In light of letting go, I also encourage you to read Karen Mehringer’s Sail Into Your Dreams: 8 Steps to Living a More Purposeful Life, available in bookstores and online. This book answers a question that surely weighs on the minds of many people. I’m living a typically successful life, complete with all conveniences and charms of modern living, but why do I feel so unfulfilled? Karen’s answer also involves the art of letting go. She says “[d]etaching from the outcome of your journey and trusting in the process, you will be able to surrender, let go, and enjoy the ride. When you arrive at your final destination—living a more purposeful life, a life of your deepest dreams and desires—you will realize that there is no final destination, that you will continue to evolve and re-create yourself. It’s all about the process and living your dreams on a daily basis.” Karen will show you that happiness isn’t found in what you can acquire in this lifetime. Happiness lies deep within you.
Best of luck on your journey into freedom!
