Natural Magick for Your Home

Crafty Pentacle

When I wrote Cottage Witchery, it was a bit of a surprise, even for me. Initially I had another book project planned, but then this one popped up in my head one day—and absolutely refused to wait its turn. I jotted down a few ideas and promised myself I'd get to it … eventually. Back and forth I argued with myself for a few weeks. Be a professional, I told myself; focus on your other project, quit daydreaming about it and so on. Finally I became so distracted that I sat down, lit a candle and said a prayer to the Goddess, to ask her to help me focus. At that point, I assumed that would be the end of it. However, She had other plans for me.

Once the idea for a book about a magickal home started, I became more and more enchanted with the idea. Finally, I gave in and just rolled with it. And I am so very glad that I did. The researching and writing of this book was so enjoyable that I can’t wait to share it with you.

Cottage Witchery is a practical, natural magickal guide to the enchantment of the hearth and home. This book will inspire you to add a little rustic charm and down-to-earth magick into your home and your everyday life using natural magick techniques. This book is filled with new witchy ideas, charms, and spells. All of them are no-nonsense, worked with simple supplies, and easy to incorporate into any magickal lifestyle or tradition.

Cottage Witchery is a companion piece to my first book, Garden Witchery: Magick from the Ground Up. In Garden Witchery, I took you outside and into the garden, to focus on how it affects your life, magick, and spell casting. This time I am bringing you inside, to encourage you to nestle in and create an enchanting, wonderful home for yourselves and your loved ones. Maybe you're wondering why should you read a book on natural magick for the hearth and home? Our homes are reflections of ourselves, as magickal practitioners. What sort of vibration does yours have? Do you use this as an ally for strength? By bumping up the magickal atmosphere of our houses into a more powerful position, we strengthen the aura and energy of our magick, ourselves, and our home. This is a great way to put your Witchcraft to a practical use, because it's fun. Magick is supposed to be a joyous thing.

Cottage Witchery features over eighty specialized spells, rituals, and charms for your abode. Here, you'll find easy Feng Shui tips and tricks. There is hearth deity information, household faerie lore, fun kitchen folklore, kitchen cupboard conjuring, fire place, and hearth magick, plus many fresh and new ways to look at color magick, elemental associations, and daily correspondences that focus specifically on hearth, family, and home. There are also three specialty chapters dedicated to protection, prosperity, and happiness in the home. Cottage Witchery also features a magickal journal (like the one in the companion book, Garden Witchery) with even more homey charms and spells, with journaling space that allows you to personalize this book and make it uniquely your own.

This hands-on guide is designed to enhance the Craft that you already practice by showing you ways to make your spell-craft and personal space into something enchanting and distinctively your own. Whether you are a novice or more experienced Witch, there is always the desire to learn something new. This book will challenge you to take the information that is presented and apply it to both the home and your Craft in a new and individual way.

This book will be a handy addition to any magickal library. There is plenty of practical magick and information to be discovered here. So sit by the fire, have a cup of tea, and let me show you how to incorporate all of these ways of natural magick into your life. Cottage Witchery will bring the beauty of nature and all its magickal energies into your hearth and home with powerfully positive results.

Home is where the heart is, as they say. And I have always maintained that the strongest and truest magick does indeed come from the heart.
