Luck is Where You Find It
Do you always need more money? Is romance a dim memory? Do you sometimes think that life just isn’t fair? Are some of us born with luckier stars? The extraordinary fortune of people like Martha Stewart and Lance Armstrong does make it seem plausible that a lucky star might be a factor. While Stewart and Armstrong have also had setbacks, generally speaking, their good fortune is amazing.
Out of curiosity, I looked at their birthcharts to see what condition their “lucky stars” —Venus and Jupiter—are in. Venus and Jupiter are synonymous with attraction and beneficial things coming to us. Astrologers look at the condition of planets (strength by sign and house placement, along with aspects to and from other planets) to determine how well their energy is functioning in a birthchart.
Armstrong’s Venus is in Libra and his Jupiter is in Sagittarius. He couldn’t be luckier! Both planets are in their own sign, which makes them very powerful. His Venus and Pluto are connected by a sextile. The sextile guarantees him opportunities, many of which involve his career and groups he associates with.
Stewart’s Venus is in Virgo and her Jupiter is in Gemini, and they challenge each other (in a square relationship). Hmmm, not so good. But Jupiter is well connected to Stewart’s Leo Sun and to Mars in Aries (both planets are very powerful in the signs they rule). The Moon in Sagittarius (Jupiter’s sign!) is also very strong. Her Moon is in the Second House of personal wealth, and Jupiter is in the Eighth House of other people’s money. Bingo!
I mentioned setbacks earlier. Armstrong overcame cancer, and Stewart’s current financial and legal troubles are staggering. Armstrong isn’t out of harm’s way either. He’s been accused of “drugging” to help himself achieve superior strength and stamina. Will he fall, too? That remains to be seen.
What these two superstars have in common is determination and a willingness to do the hard work. Armstrong trains 360 days a year. Stewart is a workaholic! But each of us has “lucky stars”—strengths, abilities, gifts, mental attitudes—to work with. We just have to decide how we’re going to realize these energies in our own lives when troubles come along. Your birthchart holds the keys to understanding your lucky stars and personal energies.
