Safe Footing Spell

Color of the day:  Gray
Incense of the day:  Myrrh

The element of water flows through our lives, tempering our emotions and granting us intuition. In winter, though, water can turn treacherous-and sometimes emotions can seem as slippery as an icy sidewalk! Here is a dual-purpose spell to facilitate safe footing in both the physical and metaphysical realms. Begin by shoveling off your porch, patio, sidewalk, etc. Next you need a container of rock salt (or other salt-based ice inhibitor). Bless the salt by saying, "I charge this salt to work my will. Blessed be!" As you sprinkle it over the ground, say:

Let the path stay clean,
Let the path stay clear.
Banish confusion
And stumbles and fear.
Clear as water flows,
Feet follow, heart goes.
Clean as the path lies,
Ice melts and doubt dies.

You may recast this spell as needed whenever you shovel snow or spread rock salt outside.
