The Smooth Traffic Spell

Color of the day:  White
Incense of the day:  Apricot

If you commute to work, you likely get stuck in traffic. This isn't always bad-sometimes those mysterious traffic slow-downs save you from being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Still, until you can choose mass transit, you might want to try this technique to get from point A to point B more smoothly: Find some classical music or trance/ techno on your car radio (or load some onto your iPod.) It's important that the music not have lyrics. Pay close attention to the traffic surrounding you, and visualize the musical composition worming its way into the waves of traffic you travel, anchoring itself on a building or other structure that symbolizes "arriving home," whether that's your apartment, a flagpole, or even the big star at a Texaco station. Drive safely, and feel the waves of the music deliver you to your goal.

Holiday lore: King Puck is a virile old goat who presides over the fair in Killorglin in Ireland. He watches the proceedings from a platform built in town, wearing a shiny gold crown and purple robes. Among the activities: gathering day, which includes a parade; fair day itself, and the buying and selling of livestock; and scattering day, when the goat is disrobed, dethroned, and sent back into the field at sunset.
