Blessing Your Books

Color of the day:  Green
Incense of the day:  Clove

A lot of Witches and Pagans are book lovers. I know I have lots of books that hold strong sentimental value and useful information that I would never want to lose. For our own books of shadows, a book blessing is often used, and one of the functions of this blessing is to act as a protection. We can also use this concept to protect all our other important books.
To work this spell, you can either hold a single book in your hands or stand in front of a bookshelf with your palms facing it. Visualize white light streaming from your hands into the book(s), forming a web of energy around it/them. To seal the spell, say:

"Tome(s) of knowledge, wisdom's form,
I shield you from theft and harm.
Blessing and protection,
forever encased,
Protecting my book(s) from dangers faced."
