6 or 18 Months: How Long, O Abramelin, How Long?
by Aaron Leitch

Occult Books

In 1898, S.L. Mathers published an English translation of an obscure sixteenth-century grimoire called The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage, which included directions for the rite of bonding with your Holy Guardian Angel—a process that would take six months. However, an even older manuscript than the one from which Mathews worked was later found, and it dictates that the rite should take a minimum of eighteen months. So, which is it? Six months or eighteen? In this blog post from Llewellyn's Magick Blog, author Aaron Leitch delves into the topic.
