Today is a full moon as well as National Love Note Day. While this day typically involves sending love notes to the living, we're going beyond the veil. With our descent into the darker half of the year, this spell helps us send love to those who have passed on.

If you are grieving the loss of a loved one, whether their passing was recent or a long time ago, you can use this spell to express your love to them. The full moon will amplify your message. You will need a sheet of paper, a pen, an envelope, and, if available, dried mugwort, lavender, and/or rose petals—plus a way to burn the letter to send it off to the spirit world.

Take some time to write your loved one a letter expressing your thoughts and feelings. Fold it up with the herbs and tuck it all into the envelope. Write their name on the outside. In a small fire in your cauldron or a bonfire outside, burn the letter while saying their name three times along with these words:

Beloved dead, receive my note from the heart.
Be close to my words though we're apart.
