Color of the day: Red Incense of the day: Bayberry Whether you believe dreams are divinely sent, omens from the Otherworld, messages from your subconscious, or your brain processing leftover mind garbage, they have always fascinated human beings. Plenty of herbs are associated with dreaming and encouraging dreams. Lavender, mugwort, and yarrow may be the best-known and most widely used ones in modern witchery. A quick online search will help you find plenty more, including rosemary, clary sage, passionflower, burdock, chamomile, and peppermint. To encourage dreams, add the following ingredients to a 3-by-3-inch muslin drawstring bag (or get fancy and sew a sachet): one teaspoon each of dried lavender, oregano, mugwort, and chamomile and two tablespoons of rice. Pull the bag shut and place it under your pillow. Give it a squeeze now and then to release the aromas. Note: If lavender is too strong of a scent for you, substitute dried rose petals or lemon balm. |
