As winter gives way to spring, we become more outwardly focused. This spell should be done outdoors on a clear day. Set up an altar to the four elements, using candles, incense, and natural items. Start at the east, with air, and say: "Spirit of air, who tickles our senses with sweet breeze, open my mind to the beauty of the earth." Turn to the south, and fire, saying: "Spirit of fire, who raises our senses with scorching flame, open my desire to the earth." Face the west, and water, and say: "Spirit of water, who soothes our senses with moist coolness, open my soul to the beauty of the earth." Finally, turn to the north, and earth, and say: "Spirit of earth, who heals us with mountainous compassion, open my body to the beauty of the earth." Meditate for a while and enjoy the environment around you. When you feel refreshed, put out the candles.
