Lleu Llaw Gyffes Invocation
Color of the day: White Incense of the day: Eucalyptus Incense of the day: Eucalyptus The Welsh counterpart to the Irish god Lugh was Lleu Llaw Gyffes, the "Bright One of the Skillful Hand." This name was similar to Lugh's titles-Samildanach, "the Many Skilled," and Lamfada, "of the Long Arm." Lleu is the son of the Moon goddess Arianrhod who, dishonored, angrily denied her son a name, arms, and a mortal bride, though his uncle Gwydion helped him obtain these. Lleu's wife Blodeuwedd was made of flowers and lacked both soul and divinity. In the end, she betrayed Lleu and tried to cause his death. But he underwent a shamanic illness and healing and was finally restored to health and power again after the betrayal. Here is an invocation of true path and power for daily use: Power of Sun be mine, Power of Moon. Power of storm, Power of earth, Power of sea, Power of land, Power of fire, And power of element. Each day be joyous, In honor and compassion. |
