Color of the day: White
Incense of the day: Bay laurel

This month, the Sun burns hot in the summer sky. Use this spell to capture the Sun's power for future use. You will need a large magnifying glass, a small glass lens, some tinder (such as paper), and a fireproof container. Go outside and pile the tinder in the container. Line up the magnifying glass with the Sun, adjusting until you have a tiny hot spot focused on the tinder. Continue until the tinder bursts into flame. Set aside the magnifying glass. Wave the lens above the fire three times, saying:

Light of fire,
Light of Sun,
Blend together
Into one.
Lens of magic,
Lens of glass,
Gather power
With each pass.

Allow the fire to burn out. Keep the lens for use in future workings that call for the power of the Sun or the element of fire.
