Weather Magic

Color of the day:  Brown
Incense of the day:  Lilac

It's late summer. The weather is hot and still. In many areas, this time of the year can bring withering droughts. The harvest is ripening, but not yet complete. Some crops still need water to finish developing their seeds or fruit. A bad drought can diminish the harvest. Weather magic requires careful thought and a steady touch. First you should study the basics of weather science to understand how the mundane processes work. Observe weather in your area to see how it normally behaves. A good beginner's exercise in this field is to summon a storm to your location when conditions call for "scattered showers." Stand outside and chant:
Storm call
Cloud come
Rain fall
Earth drum
Raise your hands on "storm call" and lower them on "rain fall." Let the chant speed up as the energy builds. Finally, fling the energy skyward and let it go. Ground any remaining energy.
