In addition to being a new moon, today is also Carmentalia, a festival associated with Carmenta, the Roman goddess of childbirth. This is a perfect day to harness the energy of creation and new beginnings to help birth a creative endeavor or project into being.
Tonight take a piece of moonstone, go outdoors, and gaze up at the vast, clear, dark night sky.
Visualize it as a blank canvas ready for you to create upon. Holding the moonstone in your left (receptive) hand, connect with the energy of the Divine and the cosmos, and ask for their guidance. Allow the inspiration to flow through you and the stone, filling both you and the moonstone with its vibrant energy. Meditate upon the first steps you need to take for your project. Then silently give thanks to the Divine for its guidance and begin taking action to give birth to your creative endeavor.
Keep the moonstone on your person as a talisman of the creative energy you have harnessed. If you ever feel stagnant or unsure of the next step to take, use the moonstone as a conduit to the energy channeled during this spell. So mote it be!
