POSTED UNDER Autumn, Friends, Winter

Make a Talisman

Color of the day:  White
Incense of the day:  Clove

Go out among the autumn trees and look for twigs lying on the ground. Gather several that are about six inches long and preferably forked. If you can’t find twigs, you can use six-inch pieces of doweling or popsicle sticks or whatever else you think of. You can make these twigs into talismans for yourself and winter holiday gifts for your friends. (If you live where there are, alas, no trees that drop twigs, you can use Popsicle sticks or pieces of dowel rods.)

Gather these supplies out of your art and magic cabinet:
• Beads
• Magical stones and herbs
• Mini squeeze bottles of sparkly paint
• Embroidery floss and/or ribbons
• Tiny feathers
• Other decorative items that call to you

First, speak aloud your intention for this talisman’s magic. Then paint a face on the twig. Depending on what the magic is for, tie stones, beads, feathers, and anything else that calls to you on the twig. Make it beautiful and fancy. (If anybody asks, you’re Making Art.)

Cast your circle and state your intention. Afterward, set the talisman in its best place or hang it on the wall.
