POSTED UNDER Moon, Rain, Sun, AND MORE

Elixir of Light

Color of the day:  Indigo
Incense of the day:  Pine

To make this elixir, you will need the following ingredients:
* 2 cups fresh cranberries, washed and finely ground
* 1 quart-size Mason jar
* Shaved peel of an orange
* 1 cup sugar
* Vodka

Add the cranberries to the Mason jar and top with the shaved orange peel and sugar. Fill the jar with vodka, adding it slowly and topping it off over the next few hours as the liquid sifts through the fruit and sugar mixture. Cap, shake, and set aside.

Allow the elixir to age—gathering strength—on the countertop for six weeks, shaking it daily. It should mostly stay out of direct light, but if possible, allow it to charge in both moonlight and full sun for a few hours.

After four to six weeks, strain and serve. Sip the brilliant red cordial as you repeat:

Berries bright as little suns,
Jewels sweet in winter’s eye,
Fill me now with quiet strength,
Sharp against the dark of night.

Feel the cordial filling you with warmth, vigor, and energy!
