Color of the day: Brown Incense of the day: Honeysuckle Wednesday is named for the Anglo-Saxon deity Wodan, who is conflated with the Norse god Oðin, the ancient Greek entity Hermes, and the Roman god Mercury. Tonight is also when Mercury reaches its greatest eastern elongation, when the planet will be visible in a clear sky in the evening. Mercury is the god of translators, interpreters, and commerce, while Hermes is the herald of Olympus, representing communication, information, and reasoning. To help foster optimal understanding between yourself, loved ones, coworkers, and/or authority figures, call upon Mercury on this night. Using green ink, write three key points that you wish to communicate on paper, and memorize them. Next, wrap the paper around three caraway seeds, parsley, bergamot herb (available in teas), and a star anise seed, along with a green stone, such as emerald, peridot, or jade. Carry this charm with you when you must impart crucial information. |
