The New Moon in Leo occurs on Monday, August 9, 2010 at 11:08 pm ET (3:28 am August 10, 2010 GMT). As with all New Moons, this is a time of new beginnings; items you may have been working on during the July 25 Full Moon in Aquarius should now be complete.  This New Moon focuses on the qualities of Leo (courage, confidence, and drive) as well as those of the fifth astrological house (entertainment and your inner child).

The Leo New Moon itself does not make any aspects. That said, the New Moon occurs during Pluto in Capricorn and  a Cardinal T-Square between Saturn, Venus, and Mars in Libra. These aspects make us feel some strain, and a little uncomfortable. Perhaps now is the time to re-create our present situations and start something new. Saturn exposes us to the realities of our current situations; we may feel the need to start over within our relationships (Venus) and our ambition (Mars). But, the New Moon in Leo is a time of creative expression and of celebrating our inner child. Combined with the Sun in Leo, this is a time to focus on ourselves and making ourselves happy. Perhaps that is our new start, to recognize that our inner child needs to come out and play once in a while.
