Term: Sanctum Sanctorum

DEFINITION:

In the original Temple of Solomon, there was a special inner place known as the “Holy of Holies” wherein God was supposed to dwell. Sanctum Sanctorum literally translates as “holy of holies,” and is metaphorically that part within us that is connected to the divine. Some occult groups use it as the name for a special location where the most advanced members perform their workings.
