Contacting the Archangel Michael

This article was written by Richard Webster
posted under Angels & Spirit Guides

Many readers wrote and told me about their experiences with angels and the angelic realms, after I wrote Spirit Guides and Angel Guardians. A surprising number wanted to gain a closer connection with the archangels, especially Michael. I always replied that I intended writing a book on the subject “one day.” Over the next few years, I received more and more questions about archangels at my talks and workshops, even when talking about totally different subjects. People constantly told me of their experiences with Michael and the other archangels. Almost all of them suggested I write a book about Michael.

Once I started teaching the Michael Meditation, which is a method of contacting Michael every day, the number of requests increased enormously. One morning, I sat down to complete the book I was working on, and found myself writing about Michael. Obviously, it was time to write Michael.

This interest in Michael is not surprising, as he is considered the greatest of all angels in the Christian, Jewish, and Islamic traditions. He is also the only archangel who is mentioned by name in the religious texts of all three. The word “Michael” means “who is like God.” Michael strives to create peace and harmony in the world, and watches over people who seek to have God in their lives. He looks after our physical, emotional, and psychic well-being. He protects us whenever necessary. He also gives us courage and strength when we need it, and enables us to follow our truth without compromising our integrity.

In religious art, Michael exemplifies these qualities. He is usually depicted with a sword to symbolize courage and strength. He frequently holds the scales of justice or a blue flame of protection.

Obviously, you should not bother Michael with minor problems. However, you should not hesitate to summon him if the matter is important. In an emergency, all you need to do is call on Michael, and he will immediately come to your aid.

You can also enjoy a daily session with Michael to gain a sense of where you are going, and to thank him for his help and support. Every aspect of your life will improve once you start doing this, and your spiritual connection with Michael will expand.

One of my favorite methods of communicating with Michael is to walk with him. To do this, I walk briskly for a few minutes, and then slow down to a more regular pace. After a minute or two, I start thinking about Michael and my need to communicate with him. I send him thoughts of love and thanks. Most of the time, while doing this, I suddenly become aware that Michael is walking beside me. When this happens, I thank him for joining me and then tell him my concerns. I listen to anything Michael has to say in response, and then thank him for his constant protection and help. Sometimes Michael does not appear when I am out walking. If I really need to communicate with him, I then ask him to join me.

If Michael does not join you the first time you perform a walking meditation, simply enjoy the walk and experiment again on another occasion. The key to success is to remain calm and relaxed. If you are tense and worried that Michael will not join you, you are likely to be disappointed. The best approach is to enjoy the walk and remain unconcerned about whether or not Michael accompanies you. Remember that he is always nearby, even if you do not sense his presence. Consequently, you can send a message to him while you are out walking, or at any other time.

Michael is prepared to assist you in every way he can. He will help you recognize and appreciate your divine nature. He will enable you to discover your life’s purpose. Michael will also open up your heart and mind to the angelic realms.

Do you recall the first time you cast a solitary spell? A real spell. Do you remember the moment when you took power into your own hands, lit flickering candles, burned tendrils of incense, called to the corners, created sacred space, and invoked your intention to manifest in the universe? It was memorable, wasn't it? Like a teenager fumbling... read this article
