Incense of the day: Ivy Joan of Arc, the patron saint of soldiers, is honored today. Against all odds, Joan, a rural teenager, led the army of Orleans and triumphed over their enemies. Whether you wish to cast this spell for a loved one in the military or you have an issue that requires you to soldier on, Saint Joan can help you. Make a small bag of red cloth and place within it three runes: Sowelu for life force and completeness; Ehwaz for foresight, tenacity, and knowing when to act; and Algiz for emotional stability, positive personal conduct, and protection. A picture of your soldier and a likeness of Saint Joan should also be placed in the bag. Draw a figure of the fleur-de-lis, the French lily and symbol of Saint Joan, on the outside of the bag. Hold the bag in your dominant hand and say: Saint Joan,Give _____ courage and strength As he/she faces this hardship and danger. Place the bag on your altar and repeat this prayer each day until the battle is resolved. |
