Spell: Winter Insights

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Winter - the season when the land darkens and sleeps - is also a potent time to work with spirit and insight. The long, dark months provide time to wind down, reflect on the past months, and prepare for spring's bounty. On each night between now and the New Year, turn out the lights and light a purple candle (for insight and destiny).
Repeat the following charm:

As the Earth sleeps deep
and prepares to burst forth
with life anew,
may i use this time
for renewal,
gathering energy
for my rebirth
in the spring.

Look into the flame, scrying for insights and contemplating your relationship to nature, magic, and those you love. When finished, settle down with paper and pencil and do some planning. What project would you like to undertake in the months to come? How will you begin? What do you need to see your ideas take root and burst into bloom?
