It is always good to take an attitude of gratitude. No matter how difficult things might be, or what you might feel your life is lacking, there are still so many ways in which you are fortunate. It can be helpful to occasionally take the time to remind yourself of all that you have.
Light a white candle in a firesafe container and place it where it can’t be knocked over. Then sit or stand comfortably in front of it. Take a few deep breaths and focus on the beauty of the light. Then close your eyes and meditate for a while on the blessings in your life. These may be as simple as food on the table, a cat for company, good weather, or a job you enjoy. Don’t forget to be grateful for the very act of breathing. When you are done, blow out the candle with gratitude for its light and warmth.
