Spell: Shavuot Bread Offering

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Pink
Incense of the day: Nutmeg

Take two pieces of unleavened bread, such as pita bread, and on one carve something that you wish for yourself, such as the words "good luck." On the other carve something that you wish to change, like a bad habit. Spread the first piece with honey and say:

Sweet is the future,
My future renewed.
I harvest this wish.
My wish will come true.

Eat this piece of bread. Spread the second piece with salt and water and say:

By salt I cleanse myself of thee,
Saltwater wash this (bad habit) from me.

Break the bread, and toss it out. Shavuot, the Feast of the Weeks, is the Jewish holiday celebrating the harvest season in Israel. The name of the holiday refers to the timing of the festival, which is held exactly seven days after Passover. It also celebrates the giving of the Ten Com-mandments to Moses. To further this spell consider ten things you wish to do in the coming year. Carve images and words describing your goals in clay, and keep the clay in a special place to dry out. Shavuot is also the time known as the day
of first fruits. Bring an offering from your garden to someone you respect and love. Alternatively, give a gift of something handmade. This is a time for remembrance. On the second day of Shavuot, a candle is lit to honor the ancestors who have passed before.
