Spell: Holidays from the Heart

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

We stand on the brink of December's holiday season, a joyful season of light and life: Plan ahead to enjoy it fully! Begin by considering which parts of the holiday season are important to you and your family. Put these at the top of the list and get rid of anything that doesn't add to your celebration. Spread activities out over the month. Embrace the built-in peacefulness of the season:
Turn off cell phone, computer, and television and spend quiet time with the lights or by the fire, contemplating the quiet depths of late autumn.
Take walks at sunrise or sunset - liminal times for experiencing the season's magic. Feed the birds. Read a new book or play board games with your family. Study a new magical idea, craft a new tool, or work with divination. Begin and end each day with a moment of calm mindfulness, incanting ex animo: "from the heart."
