| Many people associate Sunday's solar energies with the masculine divine. However, Sunday is also a day sacred to a goddess with solar ties, the Celtic Brigid. Brigid's associations with the sun as well as the hearth fire make today a perfect day to work with this goddess to bless your hearth and home. Place a tealight candle in a holder upon your home's hearth (fireplace mantle, kitchen stove, or family altar). Then recite the following:
"Brigid of the hearth and home, Brigid of the solar flame, Bless our home with your light, inspiration, and healing. With this hearth flame, we honor you. So mote it be!" Light the candle and envision the light radiating from its flame growing larger and larger until it illuminates your entire home in a golden bubble of light. Allow the candle to safely burn itself out where you can watch it. Blessed be. |
