Spell: Last Day of the Celebration of Parentalia

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Parentalia was quite a celebratory time in ancient Rome, honoring family, past and present. It lasted from February 13 to 21. The last day was called Caristia.
On this date, honor your ancestors. Create a list of those who have passed in the last few years. Find a picture of the patriarch and matriarch-the original couple or couples who gave life to your family. Start a family tree. Go back several, or many, generations. The Internet is full of websites that specialize in genealogy. Call family members in the area to help fill in any blank spots. Plan a family reunion. Perhaps make the last Sunday of every February a time for a family get-together. Burn white candles for honor. Ask attendees to bring old family photographs and a treasured family recipe. Make copies and produce photo/recipe albums for every branch. Children can fashion a family crest. Design a family blog; include the photos and download them onto flash drives.
