| A fireplace chimney provides a gateway for energy to enter your home. Keep the fireplace clean to discourage negativity. Fairies use the smoke-hole of their mounds as an entrance. You can call on the fairy folk to ward off negativity from entering your home through the chimney by placing a figurine or picture of a fairy on your hearth or mantel. Also, while a fire is burning you may want to send a protective charm up the chimney along with the smoke by tossing a sprig or two of dried lavender or rosemary into the flames. Medieval spells for protection called for a toad to be hung upside down in a chimney. Placing a figurine of a toad on your hearth will suffice. |
