| Many of us are familiar with the story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin, the mysterious musical figure who lured rats from a small German town, was denied payment, and exacted revenge by using his alluring music to draw the town's children away with him. While we can't be sure of the exact day this alleged event occurred, the German town of Hamelin still commemorates this story by celebrating Ratcatcher's Day on this date.
