Spell: Balancing Your Thought Processes

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

The days leading up to Samhain are ideal for banishing and balancing. Because magick is guided so heavily by our thought processes, it's essential to keep ourselves in check at all times. The path of mystical consciousness is, by nature, the path of self-improvement.

We are all prone to insecurity, doubt, and a pessimistic outlook rooted in our younger years. Regardless of your age, try this simple everyday magick for rerouting your mental processes.

Place a small black stone (such as obsidian) in your left pocket, and place a white stone (such as quartz) in your right pocket. When you catch yourself thinking bitter, destructive, insecure, or otherwise negative thoughts rooted in old patterns, grip the black stone and focus the energies into the piece. Next, while touching or holding the white stone, replace the thoughts with positive, balanced, uplifting, and hopeful thoughts while drawing energy from the stone. Continue this as long as you'd like, then conclude by tossing the black stone in running water and keeping the white stone on your altar.
