| If you or your child has frequent sore throats or related problems, make an amulet to wear around the neck. Begin with a favorite pendant, ideally made of gold. Bring a cupful of water to a boil in a saucepan. Add a spoonful each of sugar, orange zest, dried mint, and apple peel.
Say while stirring clockwise: "Bless my throat; may my voice be true, may my song be sung." When the mixture boils, turn off the heat. Place jewelry in the pan and repeat the blessing. Remove and dry the jewelry. Wear the jewelry every day until the throat problem clears up, and wear it during cold and flu season. |
