Ecliptic: The great circle of sun’s apparent path through the sky. This circle is divided into 12 zones (30 degrees each). Each zone is associated with a specific constellation or sign. The tropical zodiacal system, the one most used in Western astrology, links 0 degrees of the sign Aries with the Vernal Equinox (around March 21).
