She was held in high regard by farmers and is believed to have shared her knowledge of agriculture with mortals. Begin this day by making your breadfast a ritual, and let your kitchen table become an altar. Prepare and eat your cereal mindfully; savor the aroma of your toast. If it's possible, have your family eat breakfast together, and visualize fields of grain ripening. It's easy to forget in our modern high-tech world that the domestication of humble grains, such as wheat and corn, fueled the beginning of civilization. If you perform any rituals today, focus on fertility and growth. Place a dish of grain or cereal on your altar as a centerpiece. And today, cover your altar with a simple white cloth and burn only white candles. White is the color that represents Ceres. |
