Spell: What Is In A Name

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Today is Discover What Your Name Means Day! Some magickal practitioners use their given name, and others have taken on a different moniker for spiritual use. No matter what name you use, take some time to discover what it means to you and develop a sigil that represents yourself for use in spells and rituals.

Sit in a quiet place and close your eyes. Say out loud the name you use. What images does it bring to mind? What words do you associate with it: kind, loving, honorable? Make a mental note of the images and words that spring forth as you say your name.

Once you are confident that you are finished, take out a sheet of paper and a pen. Write down or sketch what you visualized. Are there any commonalities in the structure of the words or drawings? Take those common pieces and place them together in an image that is unique to you!
