Weave a simple spell for someone you wish to protect, whether near or far.

Start with a 6-inch square of paper, then cut it into six 6 x 1-inch strips. Write the name of the person you wish to protect on both sides of the first strip. Write “WATER” and “EARTH” on both sides of strips two and three; dip them in salt water and allow to dry. Write “AIR” and “FIRE” on both sides of strips four and five; safely pass them through the smoke above a burning candle. Customize the sixth strip with your choice of colors, runes, powdered herbs, names of deities, or any other protection you wish the strip to hold.

Weave the six strips together, adding dots of glue to hold them tight. Set it on your altar; each time you pass by, say:

Earth and air, fire and water, warp
and weft, you’re safe and blessed!
